Yes the idrive reading on mine is usually slow to catch up so don't rely on it for oil changes.
If you correct it using the dipstick reading (a pila pump is good for removing some excess oil) and it reoccurs then it could because the DPF regens are failing. I read this dumps the unburnt fuel for the ...

Re: Rear passenger side suspension low
Hi Celica. You're not having a good time with this X5 are you. :'(
The rear air thing is another one of many common X5 failings. I did mine a while back.

Re: Non run-flat tyres
I 2nd that. On the 3rd set of non run-flats here on a 150K miles X5. No issues so far.
I always change all four together with same brand as the fronts aren't that far behind the rears for wear.
If the transmission goes then it will get fixed then sold as I can't live with this thing on runflats in ...

Re: Increased battery discharge
95a is what BMW now fit and is the replacement for the 90a. Both are coded the same. The carly APP just lets you register the battery to tell it's got a new one and you can read at what mileage it was replaced.

Re: Increased battery discharge
I feel for you. Complex beasts these when they go wrong. And they do often. My 535d was a dream in comparison. 150k and no issues. Dare i suggest its where they are built?
Could be anything but that comfort access issue seems interesting. Really you need someone who can measure the drain and then ...

That oil filter is for the 4.8, and probably your oil capacities are as well. Pretty sure the diesel is 7.5l.

Re: E70 35D engine oil
7.5 litres I think.
Oil filters genuine BMW can be found on ebay. I just bought one and noticed it is stamped OX177 as well as having the BMW part number. OX177 is a Mahle part number which can be found for half the price! That's what I'll be buying next time!

Re: Rear inner lights
Chances are the lights are damaged. I bought new revised gaskets but then ended up buying new lights which come with the gaskets. There was a guy on ebay selling from somewhere in Europe. Genuine BMW items. Theres a video on youtube showing how its done. Aussie fella I think. Its not difficult.

Re: Hidden menus?
Indeed. Defo worth checking the water temp. These seem to suffer from thermostat issues which will eventually lead to DPF issues due to lack of regen. Recently had the EGR and Main thermostats done on mine. Economy seems a little better since.

Re: Increased battery discharge
I'd have hoped an indie knows the difference and if switching away from the standard AGM I'd have expected to hear a good reason why and maybe a call to confirm that it's ok to proceed 1st.
If it was my car I think I would be insisting that I want an AGM in there, same spec as the original that ...

Google the part number - it is AGM!
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=61217551331
AGM is black, standard white I think.
Also seen a couple of threads suggesting you can upgrade from standard to AGM but you should not go the other way. I am surprised a BMW specialist has done that. There ...
