Re: Insurance renewal
I'm with BMW Insurance - £1100 fully comp and £400 excess compulsory on 40d - clean full licence, 35yo. I stayed with BMW Ins as car is repaired with BMW original parts and you don't get charged to modify the policy mid way through or get 'admin fees'. Lots of insurance co' ...

Re: "mine" for a while
I've used a similar company twice in the last year (Accident Exchange) for this type of credit repair, after I got "rear ended" on two different occasions. I had the same reservations that have already been mentioned, but, I've had no issue. I asked them for a guarantee that if the at fault driver's ...

Re: Insurance renewal
I got my insurance renewal in a couple of weeks ago, also with Admiral, for both cars. Every year the renewal premium was ridiculous and I had to go to the hassle of getting a quote on line, which they always matched. Anyway, this year, the renewal quote jumped from about £700 to £3,500. When I a ...

Re: Nail in runflat!
Thanks again all. OK so all tyres have 4 mm tread, which would mean a 4 mm difference across the rear axle if I only changed the damaged tyre, so I've gone and got two new ones (the nail was all the way through), quoted £740 for two on the phone but a quick check of tyre leader and camskill got that ...

Re: Nail in runflat!
Many thanks folks. Yeah I have tyre insurance but I guess they will only cover the damaged wheel and not the other one if I decide to replace both. I've spoken to BMW who advised no more than 2 mm tread difference difference on the same axle. All my tyres have 5 mm. Richard - I'm tempted to try to ...

Nail in runflat!
Hello folks. Just noticed a nail in my rear nearside tyre. See attached pic...I assume this can't be fixed because (1) it's right at the edge and (2) it's a run flat? Next question - will I need to replace BOTH rear tyres to avoid potentially knackering the differential/transmission? I should add ...

Re: Northern Newbie
Not sure on the black grill with those standard wheels - 21" black wheels might pull it all together nicely and give it a much more aggressive look IMO. Thinking of changing the wheels on mine to 21" black (weren't an option when speccing the car but I think they might be now?). How are you liking ...

Looks good - did you use any fancy cleaners? Or was it mostly elbow grease?

Connected drive store
Just been mucking around with iDrive, and can now see the "ConnectedDrive Store" under menu --> ConnectedDrive, where you can add (buy!) some of the stuff from the options list (Internet etc.). Is this new or have I just never noticed it? http://i57.tinypic.com/2qb86lj.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com ...

Did VW not do a five litre V10 diesel Toureg at one point? Then there's that six litre V12 diesel Q7 that Audi used to do. Bonkers :-[

Re: Car Air-Conditioning Service for £32.95
My two-year-old Golf is in need of an aircon service apparently...unfortunately these offers are for England only
It's in for a service today and they quoted £79 for it! Kwik Fit are offering it for £49 so VW said they'd price match...can't have everything I suppose!

Re: Just had the old lady detailed...
Looks good. Care to share how much?
No probs, it was £400 all in, dropped off on Thursday night and picked up last night. I think he spent a heck of a lot of hours on it. First time I have ever got this done and it was well worth it. I've been educated about using a lambswool ...
