A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine was going around a corner, a car came the other way going far too fast they ended up on his side of the road damaging every panel along one side of his car.

It was 100% not his fault but the insurance settled 50/50

I bought one of these off ebay and wired it as Richard said, the screw head at the front under the dash has a star head.

The 0805 & 0806 use the same Ambarella A7LA50 chip set and sensor, the 0805 had a problem with overheating probably not a problem in the UK ...

The problem with the BMW Advanced Eye is it is expensive and old technology now, there are better cameras on the market for less money. It is a lot easier to fit two individual cameras, one front one rear than try and hide a cable from the front camera to the rear camera.

Yes my car needed a service and MOT so decided to check him out. He said all BMW's are set up to meet the very strict emissions laws in Germany and by loosening some of these parameters you should be able to get more low down torque and better mpg. Sounds feasible, although I cant say I have noticed ...

With so many numpties on the roads these days, I was thinking of installing a dash cam. Has anybody any experience or could reccommend any camera.

I see BMW have a camera called "advanced car eye" it cost about £250 for the front and rear camera and you can double that price if you want it ...

Also have a 2010 40d, 8sp box is as smooth as silk,
much smoother than the 6sp box I had in my last car.

It was the smoothness of the 8sp box that convinced me to pay a bit more for the Lci version.

The Dealer is wrong, you can extend the ACU warranty to two years. I bought a 2010 E70 40d a couple of months ago and managed to talk the dealer into including 2 years ACU warranty, so I know it can be done.
