Re: X5 Vehicle Inspections??
I'm not sure these inspections are worth a lot - particularly on 'cheaper' cars. Just make sure there's a recent MOT, recent service history, make sure everything works - if there's anything wrong then use that to haggle on price. Ultimately it's a complex beast and anything could wrong the day ...

Re: 4.8is and high mileage?
Hi, my 4.8is (for sale btw) is on 104k has been utterly reliable in the drivetrain department. The engine has a good reputation for being reliable (as any unstressed v8 should be!) Yes it likes a drink (around 23mpg on a run) but i've heard that the diesel's are not much better than that in the real ...

Re: towbar bike carrier
thanks all, my concern is that using a single attachment point that is also designed to be pivoted around (ie. the greasy tow ball) means there is nothing to stop the whole rig from yawing side to side bashing into the car, or worse still falling backwards! Given i use the tow hitch for normal ...

towbar bike carrier
Hi all, just wondering if anyone can recommend a bike carrier that uses my detachable towbar? Also am curious as to what stops the carrier from pivoting on that ball - just friction?

Re: 2005 X5 4.8is Le Mans Blue
I will be in the market to buy a 4.8is in either LeMans or Estoril blue early in 2014 - so maybe we could do a deal! The spec looks perfect for me, but would love to see some pics of the interior esp steering wheel, drivers seat...
