On this occasion the DPF hasnt been the issue as there was no engine management light etc just the idrive. Although it has made me more aware of the DPF and the possible issues that it can cause.

Long story but car needed software update which cured the Dpf on the service screen on idrive.

Well changed battery myself and all OK once car got moving again after the normal 4x4 failure etc all due to battery being disconnected, no big deal, I went in to my local Bmw dealer and explained to them, they told me that the battery needs to be registered to the car, which is now done. Don't know ...

Thanks for the info, was starting to wonder if it was for Start/stop cars as I presume they would have quite a strong battery due to having to start the car every 5min

Ok, Battery discharge or something similar displayed on idrive this morning, car started but noticed a bit slower turning over, late finishing work so only place open was Halfords for another battery so bought one from there with view to fitting when I came home but thought i'd better to a search to ...

update, well forced regen carried out a few weeks back with no joy, programmed to think new DPF fitted but still not resetting on idrive, but now this morning low charge or something on battery and clock/date needed reset, but the DPF service due is now clear! End of 1 problem start of another!

Any update on this? I also have 2008 X5 e70 and DPF is working fine as is the car/engine and is doing a regen, indy forced a regen, similar issue, there was no fault codes or anything, just idrive needing reset

correct no webasto on my e70. don't hear it all the time but have been doing some research and it looks like there may be a small water pump specifically for heating, not that expensive to replace, will monitor it and if it comes back I will get it changed.

dont go for aftermarket part off fleabay, spend the extra £30 odd and get oem, it worth it, be careful as my cable had stretched a bit too

Hi guys, Nothing major but I hear little buzzing noise at tickover with a very light thud (if there is such a thing) every 1.5 -2sec approx but only hear it inside the car, when lift the bonnet I just see some pipes moving/pulsing a little to the time of the faint thud, these pipes go along the RHS ...

Anyone tried ISTA bmw software off ebay? Think this would reset the DPF sensor?
