Re: Tyres
I spoke with them and they said they are the GT tyres and they have replaced the uhp as they are a better tyre. They said the 80/20 or 100/0 on/off road listings are a load of rubbish and both gt and uhp are the same. Both on road only tyres. Are they taking the piss?

Re: Sooty build up
With the engine running there is a bit of a smell of burnt fuel. Could the buildup and whistling be linked? I will check for leaking hoses. It smokes a bit when I boot it aswell if that makes a difference.

Sooty build up
Hi I steam cleaned the engine bay yesterday as it was all covered in crap. the silver engine cover was totally black and absolutely everything was covered in like a sooty stuff. Opened bonnet today and there's small amounts of it about on the engine cover. Also not sure if this is connected but when ...

Re: Tyres
Well if yours coped with all that I rekon I should be ok. I've just ordered a set of grabber UHPs in the original sizes so that should be ok. What pattern has your grabbers got? The ones I had ordered had a v type pattern which looked good but they emailed and said the pattern of the UHPs has now ...

What about if I found a set of 19' fronts and put them on the rear? Then fitted the grabber at2 all round? Would that work?

Re: Tyres
I was looking at the grabber UHP's and so far they looking like the best option. Although I don't intend in 'off roading' as such, u do need some off road capability on the estate we shoot and fly hawks on. Driving up muddy fields, stuff like that. Also will be towing a bit too. But I'm thinking we ...

Re: Tyres
Thanks for the informative reply.
So in theory the general grabbers I mentioned will be no good?
Just out if interest, is the spare generally the same as a front? As my n/s front wheel has been badly curbed so was going to swap them over if there the same

Tyres
Can anyone enlighten me as to the need for different sized tyres front and rear? I need some all terrains and I'm really struggling. It's a 2004 (facelift) 3.0d sport with 19' rims. Currently 285/45 rear and 245/50 front (I think) but I'm hoping to fit general grabber at 255/50/19 on al 4 corners ...

Re: Bluetooth problems
Just to update on this, I bought a BMW scanner and managed to get the Bluetooth into paring mode and paired up my iPhone 5s and I'm pleased to say its working faultlessly. Connects as soon as ignition is on, full phone book synced, calls are crystal clear, made a 20min call without a hitch, answer ...

Re: Bluetooth problems
I might give it up as a bad job then. I'd av liked to keep it standard and use the steering wheel buttons but perhaps that's not gonna happen.

WANTED - dog guard for 2004 X5
As the title says, I'm looking for a dog guard but a genuine metal one not cloth as my springer would be straight through that. If no one on here has one where could I locate one? I've been looking for hours
Thanks. Shaun
Thanks. Shaun

Re: Bluetooth problems
Thanks for the replies. I've tried both the button in the centre and the steering wheel and still nothing.
I'm assuming it might not work with iphone 5s anyway but would like to at least try.
Thanks
Shaun
