Moved over to a Volvo so have these up for sale.
Currently in the back end of the shed so will get pics up shortly.
From memory, they are pretty clean, no buckles, cracks or welds.
Tyre's probably have 1 season left.
Looking for £400, collected in Bucks.
If there's interest, i'll get them out ...

Re: Another day, another problem - Cracked Alloy
They're the 20" 214 style. Front one so the slightly narrower ones.
I've emailed a couple of wheel repair places to find out costs, so weighing up repair vs replace.
In the mean time I'll stick the 18" winters all round to get it through the MOT

Another day, another problem - Cracked Alloy
So MOT came back with 2 failure's - 1 was Ball joint dust cover was too damaged, but the other was a cracked alloy.
SO this was the same alloy that i had welded last time out (about 3 years ago). It appears the weld has come away and the cracked re-opened.
Am i right in thinking this can just be ...

Wouldn't a gap mean no heat at all?

Re: Compressor noise
If it's parked on a hill/bank/angle then it will correct itself every so often.
If you notice it more than occasionally, get the rear bags checked for leaks and swap out. if, like me, you ignore it and the bags are leaking, then the pump will go and you'll have to fork out for that as well.

Rear heated screen only half working
So this is a bit of a head scratcher-
Got into the car last night, whipped on the rear demister as per usual.
About 5-10 mins later, i noticed the top half was crsyal clear, but the lower half was only clearing around the elements but not inbetween them.
So i checked to make sure the boot was ...

More suspension woes
Hey all,
So i've been having a bit of a mare with my X5 recently.
The rear airbags were going, so i ordered some from Aerosus and got the lovely PMW in Chelmsford to fit them.
But after they did, and because i had left it too long, the compressor was kaput.

Re: Cost for replacing rear air springs
Spoke too soon.
So cleared the fault on the SLS, but then the 4WD and ABS warning came on.
Disconnected the battery for 15 mins and drove it, and all was good.
Then my Dad noticed it was slammed again. Long story short, pump is no longer working and now it keeps blowing fuses. Mechanic couldn't ...

Re: Air suspension possible issue?
Had this recently.
Either one or 2 of the bags is worn and leaking, or the pump is going/gone.
Get it checked asap, because you might be able to save the pump/compressor if it's just the bags.

Re: Cost for replacing rear air springs
So to update, took the car and bellows to PMW in chelmsford.
They did the bellows nice and quick. But the pump was kaput. That was fun drive back.
SO new Aerosus pump bought and installed by a local mechanic that my Dad knows, who is an ex BMW tech as well. Was told the Aerosus pump is exactly the ...

Re: Cost for replacing rear air springs
I've ordered the Aerosus ones to come early next week. Saw they had good reviews from owners.
PMW in Chelmsford came back with a very competitive price for fitting, so it seems like a more ideal solution.

Cost for replacing rear air springs
Local indy wants about £90/side + vat for fitting only.
Seems a bit on the high side, but i don't have a set of 4t Jacks and axle stands laying about.
Anyone know rough pricing for rear airbag replacement- labour only? In the Bucks/Essex area.
Cheers

What suspension do i buy now?
I need to get some new airbags for the rear as they've started to sag on one side more often than not.
SO i go on the website and there is 2 options, sports and non sports.
So i check my Vin and build sheet and find:
E70
3.0d
2007
S220 Self-levelling suspension
S226 Sports suspension settings ...

Re: Gerabox Oil Change
I asked my local about this, they said you could if you want, but it's not a vital thing.
The problem is the gearbox is part of the sump, so the whole floor needs to come out.
Plus the gear box oil is about 10-20 a litre.
i was quoted about £450 all in to do it
