Yes, adding petrol to diesel from time to time is not uncommon, particularly on non-performance cars. However I am surprised there are not more diesel owner responses so maybe I didn't make myself clear.
At a milage of 120k miles and idling being a bit rough, you would expect to have to clean all ...

Diesel injector DIY cleaning?
Hi All,
At 120k my injectors need cleaning. There is a How-to guide on this forum for removing them and there are other car forums dealing with dismantling and cleaning other makes of injectors.

Re: 3.0D vibration when idling in Drive
Thanks. I guess there isn't any way I would know which injector was faulty without taking to an indie in which case they would expect to fix it.

3.0D vibration when idling in Drive
I am getting excessive engine vibration when idling in D with my foot on the brake, typically when waiting for traffic lights to change. The problem goes away if I select N or P whilst stationary. Makes no difference if the engine is hot or cold. Could this be engine mounts, air filter or some auto ...

Re: Bluetooth Handfree kit very quiet
I have this problem using a Samsung C3050 handset, practically useless unless the car is stationary. I've tried turning the volume up whilst a call is in progress and there don't seem to be any variables on the computer or DSP settings to adjust (or the handset settings for that matter). Sound also ...

Re: 2001 4.4 70 mph to revs?
I had an E39 528i a few years ago, a superb car, used to be just over 2000rpm at 80 mph. My E53 3.0d is about 2200rpm at 70 mph.

Re: Adjusting handsfree phone sound quality?
I agree its best to adjust the volume whilst on a call but I may try accessing the other sound settings whilst on a call if its possible. You would think it all goes through the same amp but maybe the telephony uses its own, separate amp. I say this because my normal radio settings are spot on and ...

Adjusting handsfree phone sound quality?
The on-board computer & DSP settings provides plenty of scope to adjust radio sound quality but none of this seems to apply to the bluetooth handsfree phone sound. I have a Sony Ericson mobile which pairs to the cars' bluetooth without a problem but sound quality is pathetic, too much bass, unclear ...
