The garage will most likely have a warranty on the car, so any problems will be sorted by that. A refund is more of a pain for them however, which is why they are resisting.

Re: Struggling to decide whether to renew warranty - help please
Put it this way. The last bill I had from the garage for my 04 was £788, and that was discounted substantially, but non of that was another major. It was just a few jobs where the parts and labour stacked up. These are super expensive cars to maintain so a warranty will at least give peace of mind ...

Re: What wheel cleaner on 20in diamond cut wheels?
Used to run a detailing firm and cleaned wheels on cars from golfs to Ferrari, lambo etc and only ever used Bilberry or P21s. They were the only two products I knew wouldn't cause problems on mirrored finishes. Any other product is likely to be caustic which is good at cleaning, but very harsh.

What's the ride like when you ditch the bags Raj? Seems odd that BM would have them as standard unless there was a benefit. Unless they are cheaper? I would have thought not owing to extra components.

Mine vibrates too, especially around 2k. Garage could find nothing wrong so I'm assuming my run flats are the cause too! Gonna change them next week.

Re: How much data do these cars record ?
A friend of mine bought a brand new evo a few years back. He used to drive it like he nicked it, constantly. His dif went after something like 6 months and when he went in for warranty fix they said 'you've had this on a track.' They were adamant and said they had sufficient evidence to prove such ...

Hi and welcome to the forum
For that sort of budget you will be able to pick up a 2004 facelift 3.0d sport with 90/ 100 K I imagine.
Early pre facelift s are going for 5 K

Re: Insurance renewal sorted again....
I dunno about everyone else, but if my car gets nicked, I most certainly don't want it back! Who knows what they could have done with it, and problems that might rear their head later.

Re: Worried about gearbox failing
Once you start to get to the age that most of our cars are, gearboxes get glitchy. I've yet to own an automatic that wasn't anyway. Sometimes my x is smooth as silk and the lurch is only very very slight and other times it's quite noticeable. My A6 did exactly the same, and it didn't even have a ...
