Many thanks....

Re: Comfort Access
Sramsay,
So as you are getting out of the car, is your radio still on?
Are you saying that it switches off when you lock the car by holding the door handle?

Re: Tailgate problem
Thanks ChrisLux, I thought that was the case. I'm trying to see if there is a pattern. I've just been out in the car and then got something out of the boot and it was fine. It closed as you described. I'm thinking it may happen when I've not started the engine eg. I pop to the car just to get ...

Comfort Access
The handbook advises that all electrical items be turned off before exiting the car to avoid draining the battery.
Is there a way for all devices to be turned off automatically when to lock the car using the Comfort Access method rather than the key?

Re: Steering wheel change
Panic over guys,
Jack from Royal Steering Wheels has called me and is sorting out my steering wheel.
Sounded very professional and very reasonably priced.
Sent lots of pictures and gave me lots of options.
Looking forward to having the new wheel fitted.
Thanks for all your help anyway....

Re: Tailgate problem
Thanks Don, I find I'm having to slam the tailgate in order for it to close properly. Am I correct in saying that I should simply close the tailgate and then there is a second electronic movement to tightly close it. I'm not describing it very well but almost like a soft close mechanism.... Does ...

Re: Steering wheel change
I've not been able to contact Royal Steering Wheels by email or phone. I have sourced a more local upholsterer that can re-trim my steering wheel as I'd like it but they would like the steering wheel to be removed and they will need it for a few days. You mentioned that the removal and re-fitting is ...

Tailgate problem
My 2010 X5 is not fitted with the electric tailgate option. When I close the upper tailgate it often does not perform the soft closing action. When I pull it down there is usually a second electronic movement that closes the gate securely. Whilst this works sometime, often it does not and the ...

Re: Steering wheel change
That looks like it could be an option. Thanks.
I'll give them a call tomorrow to find out whether they can make my steering wheel thicker as well as retrim.
Thanks

Steering wheel change
I've just purchased a 10 year Edition and will be collecting it on Friday. The one thing I'm not happy with is the steering wheel. I is the Smooth soft Nappa leather which I like but it is not as thick as the steering wheel in the M Sport. I asked the dealer about getting this replaced but they ...
