Re: Rear wiper relay location

Wiper will work perfectly for a few weeks then suddenly do nothing for maybe 20 mins then start working again.

Relay simple to check so thought I'd start with that!

Re: Interior Trim Wrapping

I've done a few of the interior black pieces of trim in my Sport with aluminium trim - I was keen to keep the contrast with silver and black. I did the electric window switch panels front and rear, and the panel around the air con switches. I used the 3M carbon di-noc film - no way I would pay ...

Re: Aux Heater in petrol cars

Output of relay goes straight to pin 1 on the Webasto as as for fitting a normal remote relay - try quantek.co.uk for gsm relay in the uk

Re: Aux Heater in petrol cars

Just out of interest, if you go down the hombrew remote option to start the Webasto as per my other thread, you could use a GSM relay (loads on EBay for approximate £120) You put your own sim card in and just dial it from your own phone - it will then switch remotely. Probably still cheaper than o ...

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Wait longer! The only conditions for everything to work are sufficient battery voltage and diesel in the tank. It will shut down again if any of these drop below pre-set levels. My battery isn't the best and often it will only run for 5 mins before going into shutdown - but it ensures you can still ...

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Small gauge wire is all you need - this system provides a signal to the Webasto and very little current is drawn. I would put a 5amp online fuse somewhere just in case there is a failure or short somewhere in the circuits

Re: Auc Heating - Help?!?!?

Although having the obc reprogrammed to start the heater, this is only going to help if you always know before hand when you will want to start the car - I would advise using my original remote method at the top of this thread! Incidentally, it's easy to add an mp3 connector off the back of the ...

Re: Parking heater remote start- Enabling

My experience is that battery must be in good condition or at least well charged - the Webasto is power hungry and needs 12v min. As said earlier, when operating off pin 1 the air temp has no effect on running. I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago when I tried firing up in preparation for the ...

Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Here's a re-cap of my original post from the old forum, showing the fitting of a single channel remote switch/relay which will allow the activation of the Webasto pre-heater remotely for a warm and cosy car on winter mornings (or in the summer if you like things hot...) I think the pictures are self ...
