Re: Star Rated Tyres

Yes it's the thread on the bolts in the hub, not the nuts.

It has been suggested that I get a local garage to drill the bolts out and just replace them.

Sounds more sensible to me.

8mm tread on the fronts, 6.8mm on the rears at the moment. Fronts are the none run flat none * tyres.

Star Rated Tyres

Hello,

Just had a call from my local main dealer. The car is in for new alloys. It's third set! It's the 20 inchers which are suffering from corrosion near the centre caps.

The service lady has told me that the front tyres I have are not star rated and the vibrations will cause issues with the ...

Flashing Red Light Rear View Mirrot

Hello,

I have never noticed this before but when the car is locked at the moment the red light is flashing under the rear view mirror.

Have I just not noticed this before and it's normal?

Re: Loudspeaker system

I have the full upgrade from Gary at Audio File and can vouch for its superb sound.

Fitting quality is great as well. You can not tell they have done anything to the car from looking at it.

Very happy.

May consider the headrest screens in the future.

Re: E70 40d M sport bumper unclipped?

Hello,

Same thing on my 40D M Sport. The local dealers Warranty guy was looking at my alloys and noticed the bumper at the same time.

Getting booked into the body shop soon for it to be fixed. They are also going to respray the lower part of the boot as it has scraped the paint off.

Oh, and four ...

E70 Front Wiper Caps

Hello,

I have just fitted a pair of new Lucas blades to the front of the car and the caps which cover the fitting from the original blades do not seem to fit.

Anyone know where I can get some ones to fit or do you have to use OEM blades only?

Regards,

I feared that might be the case.... :'(

You could also try contacting these folks: bimmer-tech , and in particular Patrys. I think they're based in Poland and have a good rep. Not come across anyone in the UK who offers it yet though.

He told me he could retrofit the 6NF ...

Re: 08/2010 E70 - iPhone 5 Integration & Sat Nav Upgrade

Thank you for the info Richard, it would appear on further investigation I do not have the Combobox or SA6VC option. My build date is 26/08/2010.

Oh well, another mod to carry out :-)

Combobox retofit options appear to be limited in the UK from what I can see. But Bimmer Retofit from Canada offer ...

You'll need to enable the Bluetooth music transfer functionality on the phone options. Mine has phone and audio boxes checked in the 'phone' section under Bluetooth and the iPhone then shows up on the CD/Multimedia list under external devices.

I don't think the Lightning port on ...

08/2010 E70 - iPhone 5 Integration & Sat Nav Upgrade

Hello,

We have finally got the new car delivered. Complete with the audio upgrade. Very happy, I'll post some pics of the install from Audio File InCar later.

Couple of questions re the iPhone 5 integration and Sat Nav upgrades.

The car has the USB socket with the Aux In 3.5mm jack in the centre ...

Thank you for the recommendation. The car is booked in for the full upgrade. I'll post pictures and comments its all completed.
