Webasto fan running on any command input - FIXED!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I've had this issue since owning my car; the Webo never operated (as in heated up), but the fan would run for around 30sec each time the car was locked, unlocked, door opened etc. after lots of reading of the posts on here and testing myself, I decided that the PCB was ...

Re: Usual Webasto stuff!

Stevejspm - I know that wasn't aimed at me, but I'd take up your offer if you were willing to help; and would happily supply you with the necessary beer tokens for your time. I also accept the risks that go with this – it’s scrap already so far as I’m concerned. Is it OK to drop you a PM?

Re: Usual Webasto stuff!

Stevejspm - Good news! (although, as a civil Engineer this repair is probably beyond my skill set!). I do have a friend who has a background in this sort of thing though... Thanks for the info.

Re: Usual Webasto stuff!

Hi - I seem to have the same Webasto issue as you're experiencing on my 55 plate 3.0d (fan activation each time the car receives a signal). Unfortunately, I've not been able to determine a cause through testing, so assume it's the PCB... If you find a cure, I'd appreciate it if you can let me know ...

Re: Replaced the speakers

I really want to do this on mine next (I only have business too); so any advice would be welcome and a ‘how to’ very much appreciated… (I’ve just replaced a broken door handle carrier using the guide on here and I probably wouldn’t of tackled the job without the help); what a brilliant resource this ...

Re: Webasto unit runs for 30 sec on unlock query???

Hi another Newbie here - 2wk old (to me) 55 plate 3.0d Sport; I have the same problem/issue... I've read on here that it's most likely a PCB issue in the Webasto. The PCB is BMW specific and generally non-replaceable. There's a huge amount of info on diagnosing faults with the unit on this forum ...

Re: Hello from Bath...

Hi guys and many thanks for the welcome. It certainly is a lot of car for the money; I was comparing the X with Discos and Toe-rags (amongst others) and the E53 just seems like fantastic value for money when I took into account what I actually wanted the car for... (i.e. I'm not using it off road ...

Hello from Bath...

Hi - I just wanted to register and say hello and thanks for all the useful information that I've already gained from reading the posts on this site. I used the info when I made my recent purchase of a silver 55 plate X5 3.0d and so far I appear to have been lucky. I bought privately; 67k miles, used ...
