Pagid and Textar were the OEM fit on earlier models so that may well still be the case on the current ones too.

Thanks- do you mean a combination of the two -i.e. Pagid discs and textar pads?

Which brake discs and pads?
Just had a quote from BMW for new discs (front) at £120 + VAT per side. (£600 in total for new discs and pads is making my eyes water!)
This is part number 34116868939 for 2013 x5 3.0d M Sport.
Does anyone know who makes the OEM discs and pads for BMW?

AdBlue - are all brands the same stuff?
Hi Folks
I am about to buy some AdBlue to top up my 3.0d X-drive. There are a number of different makes. Some seem to be better value than others. The BMW product much more expensive.
Does anyone know if there is any difference whether you use any particular make?
Cheers
Steve

3.0d M Sport fuel economy
So, what is everyone else getting to the gallon? I've only done 650 miles, but haven't managed to better 34 mpg, with total average of 32 mpg.
My old E53 was meant to do 29.1 average mpg. And even after 110k miles on the clock it was still giving me a regular average 29 mpg.
Has anyone managed to ...

Re: 4 x 17" Alloys with Michelin M+S all weather tyres
I haven't said they are winter tyres. The buyer wants some 17" wheels. However FWIW, I know they came as standard tyres on the SE. They are made in Canada and were standard in North America on the early E53s (AFAIK).
But they are rated M+S - which is mud and snow. Clearly they are not extreme ...

Mmm. That's a good point Smee.
My better half would like me to get rid. I think I will list them on flea bay for £325 or best offer and see what sort of response I get. If all is silent, then maybe Mrs Blackdog will put up with them for a few more months!

Hi,
Do you know if they fit an X3 (E83)?
Cheers

You would need to check with someone who knows, but from a Google search it looks like the alloys from an e53 will fit the X3, but the tyres are too big. It may work, but not sure if they physically don't fit the gap or they ...

Re: No service book in F15 pack
After I took delivery, I looked for the service book and sent an email to the dealer saying:
"One thing - I can't find the service booklet - do you still have it? I had expected it to be in the wallet in the glove box but its not there. If you have it, please can you pop it in the post"

Hello there!
Hello,
I'm moving over here from the E53 forum.
I was about to part ex my old faithful 112k miles one owner from new E53 3.0d sport for an E70. Got so pee'd off with being messed around by the dealer, we looked elsewhere and will become the proud owners of a space grey xdrive 3.0d Msport F15.

Re: Does crash in history change value?
Hi folks
Well in the end, there has been so much hassle with the dealer not being able to release the car until it had been "inspected", I have cancelled the order. It still smelt a bit fishy for me. Interestingly the vehicle was crashed whilst in Sytner's possession, so I suspect they had no ...

Unless it's a write off (Cat C or D) why would anyone know. Can't for the life of me figure why the dealer would be so up front with that sort of info.

Does crash in history change value?
Been looking at a nearly new Approved Used BMW- over 2 years warranty left. Dealer has admitted that it had a shunt, causing some medium damage to front and rear. I've seen some photos of the damage - it is obvious, but the car was still easily driveable. I doubt it let the airbags off. The damage ...

Re: Gearbox Oil Change X5 E53
I did my pre-facelift 5 speed GM box change last week.
I bought the replacement filter from my local transmission refurb company for £22 and five litres of ATF for about the same amount. I didn't need a new gasket as the old one was in very good condition.
It is a very easy job indeed, but if you ...
