looking at some of the prices you pay for insurance and its crazy compared to what the insurance has just cost me on my X5 i have just gone with a company called go skippy found them on go compare and it just cost me £2400 fully comp for a year! and that was the cheapest by a good £1000!

Hi Raj to be fair the ride is not great but its not terrible either it will take some getting used to. As for the meet it sounds like a good day so i will be attending as the mrs has decided to give me a day pass only catch is its going to cost me a shopping trip! but its all well and good for a day ...

I was so relieved to find out it was not anything else as someone posted on here it could have been an oil pressure problem which i was dreading as its cost me a small fortune anyway so was glad it was them who had to put it straight. Hi just a quick update after nearly 3 weeks of problems the X is finally fixed! It turned out that the reconditioned gearbox had problems with the electrics in the gearbox so thank god it did not cost me anymore. I will upload a few pictures of the car in the next few minutes. Thanks for that steamyrotter i have contacted the guy who supplied the reconditioned box and he is coming to have a look but from what he has said he believes the problem is a speed sensor so fingers crossed it will be done and dusted today

Im not too sure on the ZF box and torque converter but on mine (GM) the torque converter is the one to go 1st and then from that it destroys the gearbox the 1st thing i did was drop the oil to check for metal fragments that would be my 1st port of call

Yeah i have had some serious bad luck with it just looking forward to it all being sorted and i can start enjoying the car because at the minute its just and endless money pit.
