Re: Finally the suns out ! got couple of pics
I agree, i've got more scratches on this car than my 45,000 mile E70 ,the paint seems to be very easily marked, i always thought bmw paint was pretty robust ???

It is carbon black, I think the grille finishes it off well.

Re: DAB radio issues
Up until about Christmas/New Year, I got uninterrupted DAB radio reception right across all "ensembles" (BBC, National, Scottish, etc.) everywhere I went. Now I don't know if "they" have fiddled with anything, but now it is dropping out constantly on roads I drive very frequently (e.g ...

Re: Maybe buying a Petrol X5
I'd suggest the V8 also, i was going for a 3.0 Cayenne until the dealer showed me the figures, virtually no difference in mpg against the V8, plus it sounds much better.

Re: Anybody tried EcoTune in Glasgow for a remap?
They re mapped my E70 and i had no complaints, the owner was running the same car at the time E70 30sD so he knew his way around the BMW,i'd certainly use them again.

Floor mats
Can anyone recommend a set of hard wearing mats ? , I find mountain biking and fishing drags a lot of muck into the car no matter how hard i try & keep it clean, I pretty much ruined the drivers mat in my last car, I'd like something that looks nice too, not just rubber, I'm sure i seen a nice set ...

Re: A few pics
Bob, what do you do offshore, I assume it's North Sea? I work as a senior drilling engineer in Aberdeen, I do the weekly commute from Edinburgh (I was "allowed" to bring the X5 this week :)). Did you buy your motor from John Clarke in Aberdeen?
I'm a Snr elec dive technician ...

Re: A few pics
Very nice - I like the black wheels, are they 21"? My F15 is white, would love it with these wheels on but weren't an option when I ordered mine! Lovely looking motor.
Cheers :) They are 20'' , i only ordered last minute because they couldn't get me the 468M which were my ...

Re: Driving Assistant/Plus 20''468M
Just checked on the BMW website, and I can still spec. the 468M alloys on a new X5?! Also noticed some cool new additions that were not available when I ordered my motor :(!
I think there are a few discrepancies between the customer & dealer configurators & the accessory hard ...

Re: Driving Assistant/Plus 20''468M
Agree, have the DA+ on my F15. It's a must, especially if doing long journeys, where the ACC comes in very handy. I have the 20" 468M wheels also - IMO they are by far the best looking of all the wheel options, although not sure if the wheel options have changed (picked up my car on ...
