Ta for the positive comments.
Sunny- if memory serves I think the X5 colour is called sterling grey but could be wrong on that, dont know what colour the 3 is but its just a shade or 2 lighter than the X

Bought another BM
Got this 330ci a few weeks back as a 2nd car. 9yr old, fsh, 2 owners, 60k on the clock and its absolutely mint. Not blisteringly fast by any means but definitely got enough to have some fun. Sounds nice too.

Re: BMW Insured warranty
I took a gamble on my 4.8is and elected not to keep the warranty running. Think it was something like £140 per month for the BMW cover so I kept saving that for the first year and then stopped.

Re: One for the Cyclists on here
Saw Martin at Dalby a couple of years back going through his tricks and he was amazing to see, spoke with him afterwards and he seemed like a really top bloke.
He was filming a sequel to the vid posted when sadly he fell backwards and broke his back, now paralysed, so sad.

Mountainbiking is my thing-love it. Had the prophet 6 years now and it still holds its own against much of the new stuff. The lefty strut is fantastic with 140 play, very little flex yet still light enough.

Re: X5 4.8is
Hi,
That motor you are interested looks like a seriously nice machine but its way over priced. As per earlier in this thread im the guy that bought Nats 4.8is.
At the time of purchase, March this year it had approx 60k on it and I paid £10, 200 for it if I recall correctly (might have been a ...

Hi Mat,
Just to clarify you can get warranty invoices, ive got loads of them as it was me that bought Nats. Maybe he was a special case though as it was in dock that much!!!. The gearbox as suggested was a bmw warranty job (8/2/13 @ a cost of £4625.85).

Re: Afternoon All - Newbie, Getting ready E53 4.8is purchase
Hi Matt and welcome.
Looks like you are already well up on the big potential issues (air suspension, pan roof, gearbox etc) the mention of checking the electrics is also good advice. Im on my 2nd X5 (4.8 e53) but my previous a 2002 3ltr sport did suffer badly with repeat electrical problems:- front ...

Re: Purchase of a E53
Having had a 3ltr sport previously and now the V8 I would advise 100% going for the latter. As you point out the mpg differential is of no consequence and for the massive grin factor the burble alone brings just go for it.
The only thing I would add is do not discount the 4.8. I got really lucky by ...

Nice one mate, chuffed for you. Like you say there are a lot of bad X's out there that can easily turn into a nightmare. You only need that bit of luck like you had by seeing the ad early. I too had similar luck by seeing the ad for my car early off this site.
