Re: Heaters blowing luke warm.

Well now that the additional water pump is fitted all is well, Luke is now longer being blown warm he is getting the full wrath of satans sister!!!! I didn't realise heaters could be so hot in a car, very impressed with the difference. The pump and or water valve must have been on their way out ...

Re: Heaters blowing luke warm.

Jaynana, my car doesn't have the Webasto heater so the pumps sole purpose in life is to circulate the coolant through the heater matrix (it still keeps running when the engine is running). When i put a screwdriver onto the pump and put my ear to it i can here a horrible buzzing/screeching sound so ...

Re: Heaters blowing luke warm.

Thanks for the post Jaynana. I replaced those a couple of days ago (155 quid later) but they didn't cure the problem. I have since found out that item number 9 on the diagram is an "additional water pump" and it is that that is not working. The additional water pump supplies hot water to the heater ...

Re: Heaters blowing luke warm.

Thanks for the replies (even you smee as you made me laugh) I have made some progress as I now have hot air to the paasenger side but luke is still in the drivers side. I "tapped" the solenoids under the bonnet that control the hot water flow to the heater matrix. I have spoken to my local indy and ...

Heaters blowing luke warm.

Afternoon all,

I have noticed that the heaters in the car are only blowing luke warm at best. I have checked all the obvious head gasket tell tails and there are no other symptoms (Oil still at correct level and no trace of water, no evidence of exhaust gas in the expansion tank, the car does use ...

Re: Bluetooth problems

I had the same problem when trying to set mine up using the button in the armrest. I used the button on the steering wheel and it went into pairing mode no problem but the phone wouldn't pair so I followed advice from this forum and deleted all my text messages and it paired no bother.

Where are the window relays located

Another problem, I have just scanned the car with BMW scanner 1.4.0 and it says that the rear left passenger window relay is sticking to positive. I had noticed that sometimes the window wouldn't go down on the first push of the button but would go down on the second or third push. It doesn't seem ...

Re: 4.8is plastic pipe dislodged under bonnet

Thanks for the reply psychosis, they are in fact the power steering pipes and i have just gave them a wipe with a rag and the results are looking more towards power steering fluid (redish brown in colour)
I will have a look at the power steering pipework tomorrow (best not to get involved with ...

4.8is plastic pipe dislodged under bonnet

Hello folks, wondering if any of you with a 4.8is could help me out here, after returning home from a enthusiastic drive i noticed the smell of burning oil coming from the front end of the car, upon investigation i found what i think is an oil breather pipe just sitting there not connected to ...

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!

I once had a E38 740i that had the cream leather interior with the cream coloured seat belts and they were absolutely manky when i bought it. I used normal fairy liquid mixed with hot water and it brought them up really nice, some of the more stubborn stains wouldn't come out but it made them hardly ...

Re: Audi A4 Avant Black Edition

I have a friend with the 2.0 tdi saloon and he said exactly the same, as flat as a witch's t!t was the exact expresion. He had his remapped and he says it now feels like it has a different engine under the bonnet. I cannot comment on the before as he had it done on day 2 of his (demo model so ...

Re: Wet carpet?

Steve, don't overfill the coolant system as that is just as bad as not having enough coolant in, the very tip of the red float should be level with the top of the filler neck when the engine is cold (leave overnight prior to checking it as if it is even the slightest bit warm it can give false ...
