Re: Air Suspension

Mone started like that, it was the nearside bellow, its usually always that one by all acounts, when it came off it was clear it had started to perish and had lots of little holes appearing. I looked at getting some after market ones, but the price difference beween that and BMW supplied ones was ...

Re: Pros and cons to replacing RFT with normal tyres

I have 20" wheels and a year ago went away from run flats, basically because of cost and also the hassle of a nail in the tyre, and no one prepared to fix it. I had several arguments with tyre centres who said run flats cant be repaired, even though Bridgestone say they can be plugged like any other ...

Re: Westfalia Tow Bars

OK Seem to got to the bottom of this tow bar lark. Westfalia are the OE suppliers for BMW tow bars, however if your car left the factory with one you have one model (stamped with BMW etc, which seems to be the swans neck I have bought), but if it was dealer fitted you end up with another model, both ...

Re: Westfalia Tow Bars

Its arrived :P But does not seem to fit :( I am going to have to take it to a Wesfalia dealer Tuesday so they can see what the issue is, it does not seem to fit up inside properly and sits a good inch or so from the v shape notches fitting together. So either something is wrong with the swans neck ...

Re: New battery going into my X today

Mines on the way out. Its not holding charge and only charges up if taken on a long trip. Tell tell signs for me are radio muted on unlock, welcome lights (headlight rings and back lights not lighting on unlock, not all doors unlocking and the car telling me to wait for glow plugs etc. Take it for a ...

Westfalia Tow Bars

Hi I have a Wesfalia tow bar system fitted to mine, it has everything bar the detachable bit(swans neck). I believe these are the OE item, and a guy is selling the missing piece on ebay at the moment stating its the OE part for an E70. The picture shows it has BMW written raised on the side, but is ...

Re: Rear Air Suspension Problem

[quote="Steamyrotter"] Could be your compressor seals are wearing a little thin? Or the solenoid valve seats getting a bit worn. Doesn't take much for air to escape as you probably know. The fact the compressor pumps it up means the system is recognising the need and trying to do something about it ...

Re: Rear Air Suspension Problem

Cheers One thing it was doing in France when this was happening and occasionally since we have been back is, when you stop you can hear the pump working for about 10-20 seconds before making a fart noise. I only had the kids in the boot seats so no over loading, but it makes me think that when a ...

Rear Air Suspension Problem

Hi A couple of months ago while on holiday and the third row seats in use, the warning light kept coming on saying there was a leveling fault, it happened about 9 times out of ten when in use. However visually there was no drop to be seen in the level at the rear. Once I returned and stopped using ...

Re: The great tyre debate... (20 inchers need only reply)

[quote="acideraser"] I am on 2nd set of bridgestones, 34k now 1st set lasted for around 2 years, +/-22k but outer edges of the front ones had been worn badly. The reason being - not doing alignment at all in two years. Don't want to start this but for me RFT's are a more convenient as you can easily ...

Its a Westfalia, which I think is the one BMW supply.  I will see if I can find any supporting bits for it.

Cheers

Tow Bars and Fans

Hi

I have a detachable tow bar fitted to my X5, I have read that if you have a tow bar you are supposed to have larger fan blades fitted, how do you know its been done?

Cheers O:-)
