Re: Change oil after 12 mths or wait another year?
8L of Castrol Edge and a filter arrived from Europarts today (cost £67) so I have a job to do over the weekend. We're hoping to keep the car for a few years so trying to look after it from the beginning.

Re: Help needed from 7 seat owners
That gap looks exactly the same as mine. You can get your fingers easily and a bit more in there.

Re: Change oil after 12 mths or wait another year?
Thanks for the replies. We do a real mix of journeys, so at least its not lots of short ones. I think I'll change the oil, can't do any harm

Aaargh, nail in tyre what are my options?
Found a nail in my offside rear tyre today, see pic below. Tyre is one year old and 11,000 miles so around 6mm tread left in it. Do I drive to a tyre place tomorrow and have them talk me into buying a new tyre? Will they be able to repair it? I don't think we've done many miles in it. http://i44 ...

Change oil after 12 mths or wait another year?
We've had our X5 30d M Sport for one year and 11,000 miles. Should I change the oil now or wait another year when the 20,000 mile service is due?

[quote="Barney"] [quote="Don Coffey"] [quote="Barney"] I'm struggling with my latest AUC find, up at £36000 and I offered £33000, they said a straight no. The best I've got it to at the moment is £34750 over the phone! It's a very low mileage example which makes it hard to barter down, I'll go for ex ...

Re: Home Server
How about a simple 1TB NAS drive? I have a Buffalo which is connected to my router by cable and streams HD TV to my media centre wirelessly. Acts as a backup for all other PCs in the house. The media centre powers my TV and I can RDP (Remote desktop protocol) to it from inside the house or from ...

Re: First time X5 owner
Skye is a Labrador and will be 12 in April so we lift her in and out of the boot. The sill is so high. Thanks for the dog guard link. We have three kids so will generally have five in the car. When we have more than that, I'm hoping the guard will be easy enough to dismantle. Our last car (Omega ...

First time X5 owner
Hi All, Picked up a new X5 30d M Sport last weekend and it is fantastic! Space grey with Oyster leather and 7 seats. I should have bought one years ago. I looked for a dog guard on Accessories section on the BMW site, but couldn't see one. Can anyone recommend a good one? Looking forward to ...
