Yerrr :)) Took the switch panel off the door as per youtube clip and took off all terminals. The power lead looked a bit oxidized so cleaned it up a bit with a small screwdriver. Put it on ebay and sell it.  As stated its not worth hiring out and its cheap to start.    I've just bought one and its going on ebay as as soon as the jobs done.  Just got to sort out an alternator thats gone south last night Grrrrrrrrr.

also thinking of going for a complete battery drain before the job.  Any thoughts

It's doing it when the car has been stood for a few days.    Plenty of oil in but there is oil burning off the exhaust under the bonnet when run again.    Nothing when run every day.    Just thought someone would know of a typical leak on a 3.0i would do this
