Re: cd r
Did you get a working disk in the end? Certainly the 2005 onwards players handle CD-r and MP3, WMA and WAV without any problems. Earlier players should still handle CD-R as long as they are burned as red book audio CD's.. Earlier changers should handle CD-R disks, but you must make sure that the ...

Re: 840 High-speed de-restriction
I think they add it to "Sport" models across the board, a 335 Sport, or 535 Sport will easily hit 155Mhp (I think!). It sets the sports apart from the SE models. My 3.0D LeMans/Sport has the derestriction, as mentioned its pretty pointless as the car cant hit 155 anyway.. but I guess as its just a ...

Re: Stupid question time ...
Sure the X5 wont go anywhere a RR or LR will go.. But its not hopeless if fitted with the right tyres. Just remember as standard, it wont have much under body protection, and you really don't want to bottom out. It's also lacking low range, so that can put quite a lot of stress on the engine If you ...

Re: Unrealistic MPG in obc
Still loving the car. It's a good drive. A few problems like a leaky back door. It's the vapor barrier as I can see water dripping out of the door trim.
The joys of a second hand car. But I am very happy.
Think the front bushes are a bit worn too. A slight klunk during emergency breaking.

Unrealistic MPG in obc
What a cheek. My obc has been displaying crazy mpg, not backed up by results from road trip app and manual fuel calculations. Getting around 27mph mostly town driving. But the obc has been claiming 35.7 It's not that in unhappy with the actual but wondered why the computer was so far out. Unlocked ...

Re: Parking Light
Can't you get an LED kit off Ebay, that's what I would do on an E53 with blown halo bulbs. Someone must make a non OEM halo bulb for the E70?

Re: Changing to HID's
4300K is oem, and is a fairly true white, very very slight hint of yellow, but compared to halogen its crisp white. By 6000 its already slightly blue, and by 12000 it will turn purple. Personally I prefer the 4300k's to my eyes at least they are the brightest, and they are still pretty clean/white ...

Re: Evil G!ts
It's said in several places that this is a facebook hoax and that Armco cameras are not currently on trial in the UK. But concealed cameras are in use in France and Switzerland. So who's to trust that they won't come here. Question is will they be considered legal or are hidden cameras still ...

I assume you have the 5 speed gm gearbox as the zf6hp26 uses a different transmission fluid ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/original.gif)

Re: Bm54 upgrade ?
One of the amp modules inside the dsp overheating perhaps? Or a dry joint so it only works when cold?
Wonder if Baris can do the amps in the dsp.

Re: Blackberry 9900
Find your Bluetooth module (in the boot of the X5), and see if you can spot the part number. Here is the complete list. The early modules were apparently pretty terrible and had very poor Bluetooth radios, and major pairing problems. Later modules are "better" but I don't think anyone would say they ...

Re: Bm54 upgrade ?
I believe this one is from the E38 DPS amp, but the X5's DSP amp should be the same wiring harness regardless. BMW like to reuse parts :), and even when they change a part they often just wire it the same but code the electronics differently. Just silly differences, like the SUB is in the right hand ...

Re: 3.0D Remap, Opinions and Efficiency.
If you visit www.thelurch.com they describe the hesitancy as the lurch variant two, as opposed to lurch version one when slowing to a stop. So I've just used that convention. Variant 2 : In addition, when you slow very gently to a creeping halt without actually stopping and then gently try to ...
