When they are replaced aren't you meant to have them set up via diagnostics, etc.
Did you? If not, could that have 'thrown things out so to speak?

Re: VW Fox
Thanks for the replies chaps.
I ended up looking at 4 of them (would have been 5 if they guy hadn't sold it before I got there - it would also have been nice if he'd told me before I turned up, but that is another story!).

Re: VW Fox
Thanks for the replies.
They seem a cheap but fairly well built little car. They have a fair amount of room in them too as the rear bench moves to either create more legroom or boot space, depending on your need.
I like the Lupo but many seem a little long in the tooth now and I'm sure, as much as ...

VW Fox
Anyone had any experience with one of these?
In particular the 1.2 Urban model?
I'm thinking of one as a runabout that I can then add my son on the insurance when he starts driving in August.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Re: Glow Plugs Affecting DPF Filter
Just had my glow plugs done (2008 3.0d) as I had 1 faulty (number 5).
I had the control unit / relay done at the same time as my Indy recommended it. He said often that if you replace the glow plugs and not the unit then the unit can start to throw up fault codes about 2 - 4 weeks later. Then you ...

Re: Shifter in M/S doesn't spring back to Park when P pressed?
If my understanding is correct the 'switch' is in the control box attached to the bottom of the gear selector so you end up with a whole new unit.

Get the fault codes read. Sounds like it could be the gear selector control box going by your other posts too.

Re: Windscreen washer reservoir runs out really quickly
After a frustrating trickle from the washers on Saturday and trying to see through a filthy screen I thought I'd better get this looked at sooner rather than later.
Little did I expect to find a small drop of oil on the driveway following an 85mile round trip. So I've booked it in my my Indy to ...

Re: Windscreen washer reservoir runs out really quickly
This is what frustrates me too. I paid BMW last January to clean mine out (although they charged £75 iirc) and was told the same 'use BMW screenwash' line.
A year later and only using their stuff and it is back doing the same trickle. Headlamp and rear are fine.
Given that they also messed up the ...

Re: Auto box shifter noise
If it is the 'control box' that sits below the gear lever (attached to it ) then it may well throw up a fault code.
I had mine replaced when you could no longer get easily into reverse. The lever would stop you in 'N' first. It had a fault code. My Indy said that his contact at BMW (for parts) was ...
