It is true, the key holds the mileage data. It is also possible to read the mileage from ews/cas with bmw diagnostic tools.

£516 with Aviva, parked on Drive with in car entertainment mods declared. 4.4i sport, 2002, tracker fitted, Dodgy area in Oxford. By far the cheapest, comparison websites were showing a minimum of £700.
I found it by going through all of the companies mentioned in insurance threads on this forum ...

Regarding the TV in motion, as far as i am aware it is not possible to activate it with the standard BMW dealer tools due to legal issues. It is possible using NCSexpert but you have to have the correct profile and know a few of the ins and outs of the SW. The resler tool and Software Penny has ...

Alternative BMW software would be... (also compatible with your USB obd cable)

Old GT1 - Coding, diagnostic, etc (SSS is just a modern update of some of this functionality for the new BMWs..)

Regarding the SSS and the way it operates...

In order to code a car, the SSS SW will check that all of the vehicles ECUs are at the latest level (SW wise) before it will continue. If not, it will try to update/reflash the ECUs in the car providing you have all of the relevant files on your computer ...

Hi, just for info, i have a 2002 4.4 sport. It averages 14 Mpg when town driving / short journeys and 23 mpg for longer trips. It cost me £104 to put 80 litres in yesterday :-(

Hi, my car has the same 0.9A drain. It was the Main engine coolong fan causing the problem. Because i use tha car every day i havent bothered getting it fixed yet. (fuse 60 or 61 -50A in the glove box.)

Found this out with the multimeter in current mode, placed in series on the negative lead. I ...
