Re: Erroneous Error Messages

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I thought an update would be helpful if anyone else has similar issues. It seems all the above issues, and a few others, are now resolved; thanks to an inattentive Transit van driver. Last December, whilst stopped in a line of traffic, the car got rammed ...

Rear Bumper Alignment

Hello, My wife's X5 came back from the bodyshop today having had a new rear bumper fitted (someone tried to park a Transit van in the boot, but that's another story). The new bumper fits fine at the wheelarches but there is a 1/4 inch gap at rear. The bodyshop say they're going to order new mounts ...

Re: Erroneous Error Messages

So I finally got around to replacing the battery; it turns out that it was 10 years old, but it hasn't made a blind bit of difference. :( The car wouldn't lock earlier today, which it's not done before, so decided to bite the bullet and buy new. Any further suggestions would greatly appreceiated as ...

Every time you get an error message, do a complete circuit of the next roundabout.

Re: Erroneous Error Messages

Thanks for all the replies. I've not had a chance to check the battery's output yet but hopefully I can have a look this weekend. I'll check the battery for a date at the same time. Huxsta, carpets are all dry so I believe the wiring will be dry but its something else to check. I have noticed over ...

Re: Erroneous Error Messages

I gave all the connections in the boot a good clean, but still getting those error messages. Is there anything else it could be? Would a Scanner 1.4.0 help with the diagnosis or would it just repeat what the dash is showing? Despite being able to turn the engine over at the expected speed, could the ...

Re: Drivers door handle lock and bolt wont bloomin' line up!

I had similar issues.

Try fitting the lock without the coloured trim piece and clip it on afterwards.  It seems to make it easier.

Hope this helps.

Erroneous Error Messages

For the last few weeks my wife's (05 3.0D Sport) X5 has been displaying a selection of seemingly erroneous messages. Self-level Suspension Inactive - if seems fine Fasten Seat Belts - fastened Door Open - all closed The Aircon appears to be impacted too - the "MAX *" only works sometimes and the ...

Identifying Non-Genuine Parts

Just before Christmas, someone hit my wife's X5 while it was parked. It was in the bodyshop last week but I was checking it this morning, first time I've seen it in daylight, and left hand side isn't sitting right. I went back to the bodyshop and although the locator tab near the headlight is ...

Re: BMW Scanner 1.4.0 - have I been ripped off?
Funnily enough mine turned up today (ordered of eBay a couple of weeks ago) Not had chance to use it yet but looks nothing like you describe - no Op-com and no Opel logo - but a picture of a BMW on it, so that's a good start ;) As said, looks like you've been sent the wrong one ...

BMW Scanner 1.4.0 - have I been ripped off?

Hello. I've bought this off ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390878525270 and it arrived today. The interface device is marked "Op-com" and has got a Opel logo. The connection has 16 pins. The mini-CD, that came with it, is recognised by my laptop as a blank disc. Any thoughts or advice greatly ...

Re: Sudden excessive rear tyre wear
You need to let the air out to check for movement on the rear arms. Mine all felt ok with the air charged but almost everything was shot, most could feel movement with the air released.
I have already discharged the air suspension. There were no obvious signs of free play.

Hi,

Tyre pressures are ok and never use the X for towing.
