And anyone gone the next step and installed the torque app with OBC connector? Keen to hear your thoughts.

Re: Can the CD changer play burnt CD's?
I tried the TDK CD-80R 700mb 80min again and it worked fine but the difference being I had also put a commercial CD in the cartridge. The headunit detected the commercial CD and then i was able to choose the burnt CD.
Oh and I burnt the CD at 2 x speed.
Thanks for your help fellas

I had tried TDK CD-80R 700mb 80min which didn't work. I'll try the lower capacity CD-R 650mb as you suggest. Cheers

Can the CD changer play burnt CD's?
I have a 2003 X5 and I have been unable to get the CD changer to recognize a burnt CD. When I put the CD magazine into the changer(with burnt CD's loaded) I hear the changer flick through all 6 CD's and the head unit displays 'No Discs'.

Re: oh we are so screwed in Australia
Good work on sorting it yourself. I think because its your own car you take more time to diagnose the problem rather than a mechanic who's always looking for the quick fix or assuming your car has the same problem as others.

Re: Possible battery drain?
Classic...hedgehog is a great name for it as it certainly looks like one.
My mechanic now has a hedgehog burn on his forearm after accidentally leaning on it when he removed it.

Re: Tyre Recommendations
Hi Phil, which comparison site did you use? I have to get new tyres shortly and I'd like to get the best possible tyres I can for my money. Tyres is the one thing I like to spend a little more on as they are the only 4 contact points with the road.
