Still getting this.
Mechanic thought it could be a slip of a belt on a pulley so had the belt changed but still the same. More frequent after a long motorway run.

Re: sat nav volume too loud after doing RCA preout conversion
Guys might look weird me posting a reply on my own post but just a update as I have managed to sort the issue out. It wasnt my satnav volume but the camera alert volume which after searching around I managed to turn down by turning down the TA volume through the hidden menu. (Pressing select for ...

Re: Alternator whine from speakers and popping
Jayana the amp at the moment is earthed to a earthing point on the chassis just behind the spare wheel straight to the body. I will have a go at earthing straight to the amp casing and see if it makes a difference. I have heard you can fit a resistor to a point between the alternator and the ...

Re: Gearbox Oil Change X5 E53
I was told the gearbox oil should be changed at a certain temperature to get the correct oil level. I had mine replaced by a friend who is a BMW master tech and when he opened up the nut at the specified temperature a load came out, he told me that meant too much had been put in the last time if it ...

Re: Custom Sub Enclosue Box (E53)
Am thinking of attempting a similar build as in the 1st couple of pics as the missus keeps having a dig about her small loss of boot space with the current box I have installed behind the seats. I would be trying to squeeze a shallow mount pioneer 12 inch in it but am more curious as to whether or ...

Re: Alternator whine from speakers and popping
Thanks Steamrotter
Have tried the ground loop isolator but didnt make a difference and also tried earthing the headunit case with a fresh earth straight to the casing as I have done the line out rca conversion on the BM54.

Re: Alternator whine from speakers and popping
Sorry forgot to add that I have taken the live for the amp from a spare location in the big fuse box that the battery cable goes into and earthed it at the earth point just behind the spare wheel.
The permanent live for the Eq has been taken from the tow plug.

Alternator whine from speakers and popping
Hi Guys, I have just installed a Denon 6 channel amp that plays through a old skool Alpine DSP Eq after modding the BM54 for a line out through RCA connections. I now have the alternator whine coming through and also when I start the car all the speakers make a popping like noise. Anyone have any ...

Re: Fuel Consumption Increased!!!
I got a average of about 33mpg with cruise control set to 77mph over 500 miles. I used to be able to get about 24-26 on a Saturday morning run while dropping the wife to work locally now I struggle to get to 23. I did have the gearbox coded to the latest version so dont know if that is to make any ...

Fuel Consumption Increased!!!
A couple of months ago I changed the cracked exhaust manifold for a new one and changed the fuel injection pressure sensor which looked broken on the inside and at the same time changed all the gaskets. I also had the gearbox reprogrammed to the latest version. Since carrying out all these works I ...

Bluetooth with Galaxy S4
Hi all. Is anyone else having issues using the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the handsfree bluetooth? It pairs ok and shows connected for a bit then disconnects itself and the middle of the 3 lights on the satnav unit flashes red. I manually connect it from the phone and it says connected then again ...
