What tyres?
Hi All So last month it was a new battery now I need new front left tyre. Decided to replace both the fronts (of course). Which tyres are recommended? I saw Yokohama Advan I think for £285 for a pair of fronts 255/50/19. Any reason why these wont be any good? I do no offroading, once in a while ...

X5 Driver's door swap
Hi All Some dim lady drove into the side of my X5 a while back at a roundabout. My door got quite badly dented, too bad for PDR. So I've sourced a used door in the same colour in good condition, and have it with me now. My plan is to swap all the bits from the old door to the new door. I can see ...

Re: Brake sensors - ebay
Thanks Richard...
But surely if the wire was shorted it would not cause the issue... I mean the whole idea of the sensor is to close the circuit no?
Or do you mean a short to earth?
Whats a good way to test this with a multimeter....?

Best battery for E53
Turned on my remote heating yesterday morning, and then when I came to the car it wouldn't start. Also find that if if the screen is on and the doors are open for anymore than 5 minutes, then battery is flat also. Took it to get battery tested and bloke told my wife it tested at 60% and apparently ...

Brake sensors - ebay
Hi All I've had lots of issues with the brake pad warning light always coming up. Decided to replace both sensors as all the pads are almost new. I bought a pair off ebay to try save a penny, and installed them, problem went away for a while but now its back. Seems pretty mad to me that I am getting ...

e53, rubbish door handles
Hi all is it just me or are the door handles on the e53 X5 badly designed? I find every door handle really difficult or unnatural to open? If you pull on it, you have to pull what feels like futher than the natural amount - difficult to explain, but its a real effort, sometimes I find myself pulling ...

Re: power steering issue
Thanks for the advice guys. The power steering issue seems to have gone (for now). Luckily the colour of the fluid is good on mine, must have been changed recently. I've not had a chance to yet look at the brake warning, bit of a hassle to jack the car and remove the wheels I imagine. I have a 2-ton ...

power steering issue
Tried searching, nothing specific found. 2005 X5 3.0d. Had her since sept last year. All good till now. Got a few issues lined up. 1. This morning on way to work, I noticed quite a noise power steering, especially when stationary or moving very slow and turning, that typical whiny power steering ...

Re: Tow Bar
Cool, I've just ordered the Witter bar with dedicated electrics. Now to fit it. I've just removed the towbar off my e46, and I fitted that one a few months back, so this will be the third time this year I'm fitting/removing a towbar - a bit tired of the process now! :noexpression: At least I should ...
