I sold my late 2010 Platinum Grey 30d SE with 31k miles with similar spec to yours for £23k privately 2 months ago. I was offered £21k from the trade.
Your car has half the mileage and is a 40d, so it's got be worth at least £26k or so.
Best bet is to ring around a few BMW dealers and get their ...

You can get an LCI model for that, they are dipping well below £25k now.
Mine's for sale at £23,500 but it's platinum grey with black leather.

Re: Soaking Up Potholes?
I've got 18" wheels fitted with non- runflats and standard (ie. non sports suspension). I still avoid potholes, but when I can't it soaks them up a lot better than it did with runflats fitted.

I haven't told my insurance company that either of my cars will have winter tyres fitted over the winter. I don't feel I need to .[/quote]
Same here.

Re: I'm not sure about my X
I've owned the 993 for 7 years and when I think of what could replace it 996 GT3 or 997 GT3 with buckets and in Riveria Blue would be right up there. As would a V12 Vantage, or an Audi R8.

Nice
I was at jzm yesterday as he was having is akrapovic exhaust fitted to his 997rs.
There are some seriously nice cars up tree including a 9993 turbo.

That's where I get mine serviced. I never tire of sitting in all the cars they have in stock, 996 GT3s, 997 GT3s ...

Re: I'm not sure about my X
Let me qualify that. On motorways and generally around town the ride fine on 18s with RFTs.
The problem was on bumpy (ie. typical British) b roads where the car just couldn't cope with more than one bump at a time. Everyone in the car would be jostled around and we found it deeply unpleasant to ...

Re: I'm not sure about my X
I only warmed to the X5 when I replaced the run flats with go flats.
That's on an SE with 18" wheels.

Re: Electric Steering Column
If the steering wheel is set as close the dash as it can go then it will have nowhere to retract to...hence it won't retract.
I don't think there's any way to stop the steering wheel retracting which annoys me slightly as I find harder to get in and out of the car when it's retracted. A quick ...

Re: F15 Price impact on E70
The F15 is so far away from £33k that I can't see it causing additional depreciation on the E70. It's such a minger that I can only see it increasing interest in the E70!

Re: Replace X5 with X3
I've already got the car I want...something rear engined which I've owned for 7 years.
The X5 is the family runabout and it certainly wasn't the wife's first choice - far from it. She doesn't like the split tailgate, doesn't like the size and doesn't like BMW's. Her ideal would have the Volvo XC60 ...

Re: Replace X5 with X3
Thanks X Box and everyone else, looks like I still have the same problem now (with the Mrs!).
I never expected so many positive comments about the 20d so I won't rule that out, although I suspect we'll end up keeping the X5. It's only when you sit in and drive other cars that you remember the ...

Replace X5 with X3
The Mrs wants a smaller car and an obvious candidate is the X3. It would have to the 30d or 35d to keep me sane.
Has anyone else made the move and can tell me the differences between the cars in terms of the way they drive, refinement, ride, handling, performance etc.
I briefly drove an X3 a while ...
