My X5 had the BRC system and the SES light used to come on now and again. I was also told by the BRC service specialist when it went in for it's yearly service that this was quite normal and not to worry. Also know someone who had a Frontera on LPG with different system and that was the same.

Hi all well here's the update of my engine. After starting to strip the engine a bit the tensioner was at its max, the v part is what was wearing and the chain was out slightly but not broken. Does anyone know what the cause of this might be?

Thanks for your swift replies. He is going to take the sump off and give it a through flush through and I believe strip it down. He's said that I will have to have the oil changed again in a 1000 miles to keep a check onit and then maybe every 5000 for a couple of times, rather do that than put a ...

Hi again, Where about is the vanos on the 4.4 engine, also my mechanic says that the back of the main timing chain is polished and is showing signs of wear..... Any thoughts please.... Also where is the best place to buy the vanos kits and the timing belt kits or are these BMW only parts. Hope ...

Thanks IanP, went on you tube and yes that is the noise that my car is making so I will tell my mechanic to maybe check that. Looking on the internet last night you can buy seal kits for the vanos as apparently this is what usually goes on them. Anyway I will keep this thread updated. Thanks for ...
