Hi
I have a new F15 with the 7 seat option. I've not used them yet (they've not even been pulled up from the boot floor). Can I check anything for you to see if my build differs from yours?

Stop/Start and Auto wipers....
Hi
Two questions rolled into one here.....is anyone aware of a way in which the default setting for stop/start is automatically 'Off' and for the auto-wiper function, automatically on? (which is the exact reverse of how it currently works in my car!!!)
By automatically, I mean when you get in the ...

TP Volume...scares the hell out of me each time a traffic announcement is made!!!
When I have TP activated, any Traffic Announcement comes through at such at high volume its downright dangerous!!
I have checked the manual, and I turn the volume down whilst the Traffic broadcast is underway but sure enough, next time I am in the car in 'resets' itself to what appears to be a ...

Thanks for your replies.....
Jonniivy.....reassuring to know I am not the only one who noticed this.....!
I'm going to specifically listen out for it in future (temp dependant obviously!) to see if if decides to run again.....although I am going to draw a line at removing and fitting the tow bar ...

Why would webasto activate after fitting towbar??!!
Fitted a westfalia towbar today using the excellent 'how to article' by Urbanflow.
After finishing this evening I started the car up to put it in the garage. Immediately I noticed a ticking noise coming from the front passenger area and a ' turbine like' noise from under the bonnet. Strange ...

Re: Anyone recommend a garage in Swindon
There is a BMW/Mercedes specialist out at Lydiard Millicent called PC Autocare who I have used a few times - but for general servicing and minor repairs. I've found them to be very knowledgeable and they certainly care about the job they do...

Re: changing air filter E53 30d
Excellent article - many thanks! Used it to change the air filter on my 2005 E53 3.0D today. Followed these instructions step by step - and no problems at all. Even the bolt at the very back came out/went in without problem. Also changed the breather assembly using Bazzyboys article. So - an ...

Re: CHANGING 3.0d breather assembly
Bazzyboy - just wanted to say thanks for posting this excellent how to. I did my breather assembly today on my 2005 (September) 3.0d X5 - and it had the old style housing and filter. Replaced it with the modified version supplied by my local BMW dealer. All went very well - just took my time :-) I ...

Re: Battery,Bosch Silver plus
Fitted this exact same battery yesterday.
Bought from carbatteriesonline.co.uk for £94.50 delivered.
No problems at all fitting.
Under the spare wheel you will find a 'dome' covering the battery - all you need to do is undo the bolts of the frame of the dome and lift back and out of the way..rather ...

Oil Sump Plug Torque Setting?
Hi
About to do a home oil-change on the X5 (3.0 Diesel)- and was wondering if anyone knows what the BMW recommended torque setting is for 1) the oil sump drain plug and 2) the oil filter housing.
Many thanks!

Superb - thank-you.
Look forward to using your guide this weekend - and at long last my X5 losing the French connection!
