Re: Star marked tyre list

Thanks, chaps. This has been a very useful thread. I've just bought a 16 plate F25 20d whose tyres are at about 5mm. Since the tyres look big (245/50 R18) I have been researching replacements (RFT) and they look pretty pricey. I wondered then about going with non-star-rated tyres, but I shall not ...

Re: I hope I haven't bought a dud!

[quote="StuBeeDoo"] I picked-up my new-to-me F25 this afternoon. 50 miles into the journey home, loads of warning lights come on, and the cruise control went off. The car still drove fine. I've got a 3-month warranty on the car, so I'm not too worried, but does anyone have any ideas why the cruise ...

Re: Map upgrade

Yes, the system takes a little while to work out routes, but is pretty swift once in operation.  I don't use the voice commands, only the visual directions.

Re: Map upgrade

It's a pretty good system, although I managed to fit my upgrade on a 16Gb stick.

Have you noticed any differences since your upgrade?

By the way, just in case you care, the Latin name for London was "Londinium" :-)

Re: Map upgrade

That doesn't bode well for accurate depiction of roads. I've found my problem: I loaded the wrong map on to my USB stick. The first stick didn't work, for some reason, so I tried again with a different stick and with a different map, not noticing the East instead of the West. I'm doing it all again ...

Re: Map upgrade

I don't know.  It's rather irritating as my home is on small roads that don't appear on the updated system.

Re: Map upgrade

I've just had this advice from BMW: Please ensure when performing the update that all of the following criteria is being met: • You’re using a 64GB USB stick which has been formatted to FAT32. • The Map update is saved onto the drive itself and not within a sub folder - Saving in a sub folder could b ...

Re: Gear indication in Drive on an auto box

:o that sounds like an odd way to do cruise control.

Re: Gear indication in Drive on an auto box

Thanks, snrbrtsn, but that's purely manual.  I'm looking for some hack that will change the 'D' indication in Drive to show gears being used, perhaps like 'D8' to indicate 8th gear while in Drive.

Gear indication in Drive on an auto box

I'd be interested to know which gear my auto box is using on my XDrive 20i. For 5 years I've just accepted that Drive is Drive and the only indication you'll get is if you shift the gears, but my wife now has an Audi A1 Steptronic which indicates gears in both in M and D. Can we get the gear ...

Re: Playing with a Fat Albert......

If it was a Blue Angels support Herc, it's more likely that they were doing their part of the show, surely.

Wouldn't a tactical takeoff have continued above 1500ft?

Hmm, shouldn't happen with an aircraft with that many crew ;-)  But they seem like a pretty professional bunch . . . for truckies!

[quote="petert"] That's how it's always worked on my 2010 35d. Press and hold the remote button nearest the key ring attachment and the boot upper portion opens.
