The important thing, is use oil that is recommended by the manufacturer so if a 5w30 or a 0w30 is recommended why use anything different, the way modern multigrade oils work is to maintain the correct viscosity during hot and cold temperatures, the X5/X3 recommendation is a 30 this ensures the ...

Yes exactly, the additive packs that are used ensure good lubrication if it's a 0w or a 5w. We have a supposed BM specialist in my area that buys 10w40 semi Syn that goes in everything which I know to be fact as they asked me to quote so just a cautionary tale !!

It's not so much the temperature in this country it's the speed of oil circulation on start up so obviously a 0w will circulate quicker but 5w will be fine also. Just one thing to mention I have been in the oil industry for many years and if you are not taking your own oil with you for service ask ...

No nothing wrong with Mobil but 0w30 or 5w30 to BMW long life 04 spec Acea A3/B3 at least

It needs to be at least Acea A3 B3 this is only Acea A1 castrol recommend 0w30 long life 04

Air bag warning

The air bag warning light goes on an off randomly, does anyone know if there is an easy fix for this, it normally stays on from start up and then during driving will go off for a period and then back on again it's a bit annoying especially at night as it's pretty bright any help please

Hi all recently took ownership of my first BM, 2.0 X3 sport diesel, love it so far is there anything i should look out for its a 54 plate with 70k on the clock. The previous owner has worn out some of the paint at the centre part of the steering wheel can this be replaced ? apart from that all good ...
