Chaps - my car doesn't seem to have a transfer box module, when i search real oem for my car (june 2001) it doesn't have one listed, but does on later cars.
Anyone know if this is correct, early cars done have them?
My indy did an M6 oil service for only £210, so paying that for an X5 sounds too much at your indy IMO.
An oil service should be £150 maximum in my opinion, dealer ships can take a running jump, they did a friends E60 525i and left oil all over the undertray, he had to go back and complain, only ...
Thanks guys. I've been quoted £60 for the transmission update from my local Indy (www.powerdevelopments.co.uk), updated with official bmw software of the latest version.
They did my ATF and filter last year, I didn't realise they could do updates but they can so its booked in this week.
Now. I never seen anything leaking, and I never get the coolant low light on, but once a month I have to add 500ml into the tank to get the little red stick to rise.
I had that done, it does make it feel more responsive for a short time, but soon relearns my slow 'fuel saving' driving style, and goes in to lethargic mode.
It feels like my transmission is half asleep most of the time, i have to punish the car for a a few minutes to wake it up again.
