Re: Tyre load rating help
[quote="X5Sport"] If the rating plate says 107 on the car then you must not go below it. You can go higher, but not lower. The difference in this case is 100kgs less load capacity per tyre at 103 - or 200kgs across the front axle. To use under-rated tyres could invalidate your insurance. Richard ...

Tyre load rating help
Hi gents, can anyone help me out with a tyre pad rating question? I need to replace both front tyres on my 3.0d. Currently on there is some Achilles Desert Hawk 255/50/R19 107V Looking to add some Toyo Proxies to match the ones recently fitted on the rear. Which are 285/45/R19 107V The ones I've ...

WANTED - E53 X5 Replacement Front Bumper Grid Trim
Need to replace all three sections on my '55 plate 3.0d. Longshot maybe, but does anyone have these going unused etc rather than go down the route of the dealer? Especially interested in the black metal version that (I think) came on the 4.8i model. But will consider anything undamaged. Parts 9 ...

Re: Snap-on sorted the bluetooth ( LED lights fitted )
Which replacement halo's would you guys recommend?
One of my OEM bulbs has just gone so seems a good time to replace.
Was looking at these but there seems to be a lot of options around.

Front bumper lower grill / grid replacement
So the front of my E53 is starting to look tatty with various missing 'teeth' on the criss cross lower bumper grill. Items 9/10 on here. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=FB72&mospid=47739&btnr=51_5274&hg=51&fg=15&hl=28 I noticed in an old thread (http://xdrivers.co.uk/forum/https ...

Crankcase breather removed as per BMW tech bulletin (?)
Hi all, I've had my '55 plate 3.0d in for a Inspection 2 at a local BMW specialist last month. A few of the usual things to be done. I asked them to check the breather as it was on my mind after reading a thread about it on here a while back. They did & reported it was badly clogged. Instead of a ...

Indy recommendations near Kettering Northamptonshire?
Hi everyone, first post on here for a while. My '55 plate 3.0D is coming up for a service (first one since in my care) & I'm looking to establish a relationship with a good local indie rather than go Wollaston BMW in Northampton. Anyone local got any experience? Choice is probably between: http ...

Re: BMW X5 3.0d Auto Sport Exclusive Spec, Sterling Grey 55 2005
[quote="B1G JV"] Unfortunately and much to my regret I have to sell the X5 :( I'm in the middle of buying a new house down south which requires a refurb' and I'll need to buy a van to do this, I can't justify running the X5, the 840 and a van. (I may even need to sell the 8 series as the garage is ...

Chrome Instrument Cluster Rings Install Vid?
Bagged myself some OEM Chrome instrument rings for my E53 recently. Still sealed in box. Does anyone happen to have the link to an install vid? I'm sure there used to be one on You Tube (put up there by a manufacturer / supplier) but I can't see it now. I'm sure it's simple but I could to with an ...

BMW AC Schnitzer Pedal Set
I've been looking at these on eBay advertised for a 3 series coupe.
Anyone know if they will fit a E53 or am I way off the mark here?

Re: Replacement Wheel Bolts?
Perfect solution! I noticed these & bought a set of the black chrome ones earlier.
This along with the £10 replacement centre caps I bought should smarten things up on the wheel front for a cheap enough price.

[quote="Raj"]
I'll call them Doug as my TPI bolts cost me about £50 with a complete set of locking bolts too. Bolts alone will only cost you about £25ish me thinks.

Thanks Raj.
£50 seems OK if it's including the locking bolts TBH.
