Re: Freeview box fitted

I got this off my dad, there are quite a few of these being discarded as they can no longer receive TV channels since the switchover but they can be linked to an external freeview box and I can now use this in my other car using the cigarette lighter adapter and the RCA Phono cables. http://i1051 ...

Re: Freeview box fitted

Here's how I connected my freeview box. It plugs into the AV / IN socket and you select AV on your screen. Sorry about the photo quality I used my phone. http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/s425/BMWC12/IMG-20121219-00296.jpg http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/s425/BMWC12/IMG-20121219-00295.jpg http ...

Re: Freeview box fitted

It doesn't sound daft at all this thing plays music, photos and movie files directly from the USB port or the SD slot. I just received a small portable 9"LCD screen from my dad that can be powered from a cigarette lighter and it has RCA inputs so I can now take the freeview box from vehicle to ...

Re: Freeview box fitted

Hi, the aerial is a mag mount and has a generous length of cable so it can stick on the roof of the car or any metal surface. Other users have purchased the booster aerial (see link) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290742784780?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 which seems to improve the ...

Freeview box fitted

Hi, I bought this last week off fleabay £39 including free delivery. It's plug and play and I connected it through the games port socket. Works a treat with dozens of channels and it has a USB adapter (included) that you can plug your pendrive into and watch movies, also has a SD card slot. I had to ...

Re: Dont forget about the roof box

I feel it should be the responsibility of any hotel owner to clearly display a height restriction and mention it in their brochures. When I eventually got the car safely parked I was unable to open the roof box due to the height restriction and had to exit the car park then remove the suitcases from ...

Dont forget about the roof box

Hi, just completed a 750 mile trip around Ireland with 4 adults on board + luggage and a rather large Halfords roofbox attached. I averaged 30 MPG (3.0 Diesel) We stayed at the Camden Court Hotel that has underground car parking and I nearly hit the Hotels rather low heating and ventilation system ...

So is this what people really think about X5 drivers

Re: diesel mpg ---suprise

Just back from a trip to Donegal and I managed to achieve 34mpg and that was a mixture of motorway, dual carriageway and B roads. I managed to get diesel at 1.54euros per litre in the Republic of Ireland and the euro is currently worth 1.20 euros to the pound sterling. I was well pleased with that!

Re: Nobody warned me

I cant believe the difference in fuel prices in less than two years 50p a litre extra since 2010 that's just greedy! I have decided to MOT one my scooters now that the weather is improving. 80mpg sounds good since most of my journeys involve popping round to check on my parents!

Re: Car wash after service

Our BMW dealership here in Belfast offer a free car wash to customers on Saturdays. In the past when I was a customer I used to take advantage of this service and while I waited I had a free coffee and a choice of cream buns while they washed and hoovered my car. They did a terrific job and always ...

Newbie says Hello

Hi everyone I bought my X two years ago and thought it was time to say hello. I've owned 4 BMW's over the years and thought I would try the X5. Couldn't afford a new one or even close to new so looked long and hard for a clean well maintained pre-facelift example. The car I ended up buying was owned ...
