Yes 1 year AUC cost is £300 and 2 years is £800 - longer terms are not available.
I got 2 years AUC as part of my deal - I took it as saving me the cost of the Mondial jobbie plus any excesses thus reducing the premium I paid the dealer for the car!

Re: "optimistic" mpg
After 3 months use my 4.4 is showing 19.0mpg with a mix of careful wifey driving and a little of me in Sport manual mode - the accurate measurement is 18.7mpg so pretty accurate.

Sally Not much demand for big-engined petrol eaters doing 20mpg or less its that simple! Haggling is part of any purchase from a main dealer though you may have to threaten to walk to see any significant movement - I got £300 cash reduction, 6 months road tax and the 2nd years AUC warranty (which ...

Hi Sally As another newbie, I bought a 4.4 facelift on an 05 plate as a BMW Approved Used Car (AUC) 3 months ago - I definitely paid around £2.5k over and above what a private sale would have cost but I got 2 years AUC warranty as part of the deal and the front brake discs/pads as well as the ...

Re: BMW finance
If you have the copy of the finance agreement, I think if it is a regulated agreement that you can return the car once half the payments have been made. Not 100% on this, so others may say different but the agreement will have some clauses about terminating early.

If this is still available I would take it for £25 cash on collection.

Re: Agonising Issues - Help
Makes me relieved that I bought an expensive AUC with 2 years BMW warranty! Probably paid £2k more than I could have but any issues the car just gets sorted..and in 2 months I have had a new thermostat and fans and a replacement amp which combined would have been the best part of 2k at stealer ...

I had issues with no AM and FM - a new amplifier courtesy of my AUC warranty has sorted that so that may be where your problem is.

What gains can I expect on a 4.4V8?
Is it more about driveabilty and eliminating flat spots than actual gains?

4.4 Sport - 17" rims??
Firstly a big hello from a newbie. I have viewed a 2005 1 owner car with BMW history - its got comms, tv and a functioning paroramic sunroof. A couple of questions: The owner has taken off the std 19" rims and fitted 17" rims which are in perfect nick / what are your thoughts re the issues of having ...
