Re: LCI 40d SE or Sport

Go with the sport, better styling and better depreciation on resale.

Advice - non rft but with decent sidewalls

Hi there, I recently purchased my 2010 x5, all the wheels had been diamond cut and in perfect condition but the previous owner stuck a pair of El cheapo tyres up front to get it through the mot. Since my ownership my wife has done a good job of hitting the kerb on a number of occasions and damaged ...

Re: Replacing Aluminium Dashboard/Door Trims In BMW X5 M Sport

I know it's been done, do a google search and you will find guys in the US who have completed it. I looked into it a few months back and the main feedback was the work involved removing the central trim is quite involved, if you can find a local firm who will wrap whilst the trim is in place it ...

Re: Where can I buy BMW X5 E70 LCI Lights?

They look like oem units, ask the seller to confirm. If they are then the fit will be spot on. You will need to get the car coded, plenty of people can do this for you for a small fee, head over to bmwcoding.com for for info on who or how to code the lights,

Re: Finally bought an X5! My short story...

The 2010 I'm assuming is an lci model, you get a newer engine, gearbox and lower tax so running costs will be cheaper and the car will be more desirable come resale. Sound like a good spec for the money. I purchased my lci 2010 x5 a month back and paid a fair bit more than you, so sounds like a good ...

Re: Sat Nav Update

I can confirm the ebay seller of the fcs code shown above provides you with an offical bmw code on a bmw headed paper, how he gets them so cheap I don't know. I purchased a lifetime code from him and my x5 , my carno longer asks for the fsc key when upgrading now, he doesn't use the fsc generators ...

Re: Rough cold start & sometimes stalls

Get the car diagnosed, if the glow plugs are at fault it will be logged, many garages use diagnostics such as autologic. You can purchase new bosh items on eBay for £30 for all six, labour should be no more than £150.

Give Jason a call at bmw chipotle, he knows his x5's and will tell what's possible and where to source a replacement, I've never heard of the chains going before, feel for you.

Re: 4.0d or 3.0d

I too have a 40d and have also noticed the car feels more comfortable at higher speeds, it will cruise along at 30 but on a decent the gearbox will drop down looking for me accelerate. I might reset the gearbox memory like Barney suggests. Pulling away froma stand still is not as effortless as my ...

X5 40d LCI purchased + advise required.

I've fellow X5 drivers, I've not been on the board for some time now since selling my previous 2, X5's around 4 years ago and replacing it with a 535d. However with a growing family I needed to start looking for a 7 seater replacement. Having loved the 535d performance and ride it didn't take long ...

Re: Service History on LCI models - Assistance needed

Dealers within a group say "Coopers"can see work carried out within the other Coopers dealers but not dealers such as "Sytner". i've been speaking to a number of dealers over the past couple of days. not all infomation is logged especially when an invoice is not required when using the service pack ...
