Re: Anyone recognise this e53
Still find them great looking cars that have aged very well.
Exactly. Thats why I'm keen to get my backside back in one. Got a shot of my e70 this morning, (wifey in door doing some house work - I popped out to help a friend with his roof gutters) gave motor a wee push on. The ...

Anyone recognise this e53
Looking at a e53 for second car (had one 6 year ago and have had an e70 since, but wife drives all the time so want to get an e53 for my runaround / commute as I thought it was a great car) Seen several but they are getting on a bit, so low mileage high spec well looked after cars now a bit thin on ...

Re: Tyre repair sealant
The sealants don't damage the tyre. Its just companies/fitters who refuse to wash out due to H&S and chemicals going down drain. I've used for 4 years now on my e70 after getting nail in it after 2 months. Since then never another puncture. I bought a Renault scenic 18 months ago and got a puncture ...

Would you? LPG an X5 e53 4.8i
OK fuel prices are dropping but wondered what thoughts are on LPG X5.
Would you buy one, would you get stock and get LPG fitted
Have you had one
Does it impair performance, servicing issues

Re: Different Fuel - Different Car
Here's my 2 cents (or 2 cents plus additive) 2011 30d 45000miles owned since new, tried all permutations: supermarket only, 31-32mg supermarket with additive (every time 32-33mpg and then every 5th or 6th fill up 32mpg) premium (dearer) both shell / BP variants, 33mpg and marginally sweeter running ...

Re: Replacing front wiper blades LCI X5
LCI e70 (approx. October 2011 onwards) Have hunted around and most sellers have the fitting as side pin. The correct is a top button release / clip in. Bosch and some other do but passenger blade is 19" & not 20" as OEM. Found these on ebay from 'rtgroup11' http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161849570410 ...

Re: Outstanding MPG
42K in from new and avg 31-32 with mixed driving using supermarket fuel (Tesco / Sainsbury) If I go on long run at 60 get 40-44mpg, though this quickly drops to 39-40 once you get into running around town again. I don't believe the hype on branded fuel, did run car over 4 or so fill up and felt ...

Re: Winter wheels - advice sought
Got sorted, bought set of German e-bay seller 18" (209 style - 5 spoke) with Goodyear Ultra for nudge over £600, tyres with 6-7mm tread. Seller has these slightly cheaper ones (less tread on tyres) here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Bmw-X5-E70-255-55r18-Kit-Winter-Wheels-6mm-Top-/321608745550? ...

Re: Webasto = smelly white smoke?
I'm sure webasto has own exhaust pipe below the unit at front of car. Its formally called auxiliary heating, I have it on my LCI 2011 and one of the things I noted in handbook is cars with AH should not be driven in water any deeper than 25-30cm (surprised me a 4x4 than can only go in shallow ...

The 'standard' set up is non-staggered ....
I take it that 18" or 19" non staggered does not need any spacers on rears as they are 30mm narrower.

Winter wheels - advice sought
In the market for a set of winter wheels. Currently run 19"s and they are all getting replaced under warranty for corrosion next week, so made me think about having a second set for winter wheels. (Did think about asking dealer if I could buy my old set back, but I think BMW take wheels back) 8) Set ...
