E53 2001 3.0d Sport for sale

Hi folks
My X5 as above is now up for sale. It's on a classified on eBay so easier to put the link in here rather than spend hours typing it all out!
Cheers all
Gareth

Gunk in washer tank

Hi folks Just thought I'd share this week's fix on the X. The screen washers stopped working on our way to Cardiff last Saturday towing the caravan. Whilst on site I had a look and found the pump was running but nothing coming out of the jets. When I looked in the tank I saw tons of black gunk and ...

Re: boot cover

223 quid? Wow!!!!! I haven't got one in the X but I had one in my A4 estate and it cost about 40 quid on eBay. It had 2 inch high skirt all round the edge and fitted perfect. I used to pull it out and hose it down to get rid of dog hair and mud. It did the job perfect. I think 223 sheets is a bit ...

Re: rip off!

Not much better at Scothall BMW in Southampton. We had a 1998 Z3 and needed a new electric wing mirror due to corrosion inside (a design flaw but we never argued that point.) We forked out for the mirror from the main dealer as they are like rocking horse sh&@e on the second hand market. After 4 ...

Mot failure

Hi folks My local Indy who has been doing my cars for years now has just failed X's mot on 'No beam pattern' from the headlights so he's putting a new pair of bulbs in. I trust him completely but I've never had a car fail on this before. They are factory-fit xenons so do xenon bulbs wear out before ...

Worn steering wheel

Hi folks My steering wheel is getting a bit crabby now but I don't wanna spend a fortune having it all retrimmed. It's just the grip all round that is worn so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a cheap DIY job? I can't stand those naf covers you get in Halfrauds and market stalls and ...

Re: Anyone near Christchurch with scanner 1.4.0 ?

If it helps, my Indy garage is in Southampton. Prestige Cars ask for Kev and he'll help you. He's a superb mechanic and totally honest although don't get into a joke swapping match otherwise u won't shut him up!
Garage number is 023 8081 4111
Hope that helps.

Re: Looking for a recommendation for a bike rack

Personally I went for the roof mounted racks as the rear racks prevent you opening the boot when they're fitted. The roof ones do make it a little awkward to get the bikes up there, I have to use a little set of steps! Just have to remember to check your total height with the bikes up there too as I ...

Which battery?

Hi folks Just a quicky - It's absolutely chucking it down outside so I don't wanna go out to check this! Which battery do I need to source for my 3.0d? Eurocarparts reckons it's the 017 but Halfords online says the 019. I suspect Eurocarparts has assumed mine's the petrol but thought I'd better ask ...

Re: Roof bars/rails

Gimme a day or two as I can't link to eBay from my ipad so need to get on the mac when I get home but if you just search for aluminium roof bars for X5 E53 it's bring them up for about 47 quid, I think Towequipe are doing them. They are great bars, do the job perfect for a fraction of the cost of ...

Re: Roof bars/rails

I bought a set of aero bars off Ebay for about 40 quid and they r perfect. I had to get them exchanged as the first pair they sent were too short but the seller gladly exchanged them for free.

I'm thinking of going down the fully chromed route as our X is silver. Anyone bought the eBay ones of those?
