Re: would you like more MPG on the E70
I'm in the North East, so if this is successful, you have a customer waiting (and I would be willing to do trials but your a tad far away). The car is a E70 4.0d (3lt twin turbo) on a 10 plate.
I get round the doors circa 400 per tank, but can get 30+ and 500+ on a motorway

Re: Burst pipe somewhere - will it be covered by warranty
Quick update, took over a week and a little bit of a kick off from me on how much time it was taking, but all sorted and covered by warranty. They did charge me for some washer liquid
which annoyed, but car back good as new

Improving my MPG on an E70 2010 plate - sorted i think
Right, for my sins I visited the lexus garage to have a look at the rx450  Love my X, but the cost of fuel is really starting to irk me again and getting 23mpg round the doors is making it worse.
Anyway, I challenged the figures that Lexus are claiming, and the salesman told me he had just ...

Re: Reversing Camera
very useful, makes for a lazy driver though
Out of interest, I had it on my previous E53 where the camera was placed just beside the handle to open the rear - terrible, waste of money as you couldn't keep it clean. The new position is better - just a thought

Re: Burst pipe somewhere - will it be covered by warranty
Took it in Monday, got the courtesy car as I was told it would be a 2-3 day job.
Get a call Monday afternoon, saying they've had a look can't find a leak so I can pick it up :o
I was a tad surprised at this, and wondered where the 2 x washer bottle fill ups had disappeared to. I also asked, had ...

Re: M Sport vs SE suspension
PM Sent - my tuppence is the SE is a better day to day drive, even on 20's than the M (and I've had both). But the M has that little extra for the fun moments. I chose the SE

Re: Burst pipe somewhere - will it be covered by warranty
I use decent screenwash so fingers crossed.
The reason for the big repair is the water is disappearing, but not visible externally (underneath) so the water is somewhere. Goes in Monday, they better not give me a shitty little car as I have a few business trips to make to Yorkshire

Burst pipe somewhere - will it be covered by warranty
I've got a 6 month E70 4.0sd, and during one of the deep freezes a pipe that feeds the screen squirters has burst.
Its going in on Monday to sort, will be out of action for 2-3 days as they will have to lift out all the chairs, fascia etc to find the burst pipe.
Will this be covered by warranty ...

Re: Winter wheels for an E70
I bit the bullet and went with a BMW winter hotel packaging - £2100 for some 19" buggers. I had been looking for 20" winter tyres, but no one seemed to have any at all, and it was too much of an arse on to source 19" alloys then a set of wheels.
But I would pull your finger out, with what is ...

Re: BMW Dealers / Wheel Size
I've just had my 19's winter tyres and alloys fitted, replacing my 20's. The drive is far superior (its amazing what an inch can do for pleasure) and I see no real issue with the look.
You'll love the car, and like everyone says, winter needs smaller tyres, save up till spring for the big boys

There isn't for the 40d yet but there always has been for the 35d
