Re: Clock symbol by the service lights on start up

Hi,
I had the same symbol recently. It is for the brake fluid.

Re: general grabber UHP 19''

Hi,
I have a set of these on 18" wheels.

I was looking for a set of winter tyres, but these were being sold locally, almost new and were too good a deal to ignore.

I have had them on for 4 months without any issues.

Living at the bottom of a steep lane, I needed tyres that would enable me to get ...

Re: Who's washed their car this weekend?

I thought that I would take advantage of the nice weather to wash the car and maybe polish it afterwards.

I had just finished the wash when a tractor went past down the lane. Within seconds the car was covered in a layer of dust! One of the joys of living in the country I suppose.

Re: Wanted. Boot lock

Hi,
2003 pre-facelift.

If I remember correctly the mechanism just clips together.

Getting to it is more awkward. The interior trim around the window is fiddly and you have to remove the rear wiper assembly to get access to the latch mechanism. I also attached a length of wire to the emergency ...

Re: Wanted. Boot lock

Hi,
I don't know if this helps, but I had a problem with my boot lock and thought that it would need replacing. However, when I took it apart I found that it was only the spring that had broken. Once this was repaired it was fine again.

Thanks for the information. Whilst not genuine BMW wheels, they were sourced for and used on a 2002 X5, so I may well make an offer.

I'm happy to listen to your ramblings on these tyres. From Sanj's reply it sounds as if you have experience in this area.

The tyres I am looking at aren't 19", they are 18", not staggered and come with wheels.

Re: Evening all

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome messages.

AW8
Regarding tyre choice, I appreciate your advice. I've been reading on here about the performance of these cars in snow and realise that I need to get a suitable set of tyres.

Currently I have a set of 19" Kuhmos just over a year old.

I have the ...

Evening all

Hi,
Just a short note to introduce myself. I'm new to BMW ownership and to forums. Having said that, I think that I've picked the best of both.

Mine is a 2003 X5 3.0d in blue. It's a great place to be, the driving position gives you a fantastic view, it's a pleasure to drive and for a nine year ...
