If you meter them with the lights on one should give you 12v, then switch the lights off and meter them again. The one that had 12v and the doesn't is your lights +. To find the negative take the cover off the bulb that's still working and do a continuity check between the negative side of the bulb ...

Take the number plate plinth off, disconnect the connector that goes to it and then with the lights switched on on the car meter the points in the connector on the car side. Should only be two wires +

I had the same fault about a year ago. The circuit board was corroded on one side and the trac was damaged so only one bulb worked. I fixed it by feeding a wire inside from the side that worked to the other side and soldering both ends..... This was an absolute nightmare to run and i was almost at ...

Have you got a link to the aux cable you bought?

This might sound daft, but worth a shot.....

Cold you fit one of these and then plug a USB stick filled with music files into it and play the music thru the stereo?

Cheers for the link, but looks like they only do plain black for the 00 - 03 X5. They have a carbon grill or chrome for the newer one but not plain black 

Think i will try and picky up a set of 30mm ones then.

Hi, I've managed to pickup an immaculate set of lemans style wheels. They are replica's but they are the correct sizes 9.5x20 fronts and 10.5x20 rears.
